Dolphin Revision 3538 |
| Posted by Xtreme2damax - 06-22-09 18:12 - 0 comments |
 |
I have just compiled and uploaded revision 3538 (All Builds) to our downloads system, as of lately there has been some groundbreaking work on DSP emulation that allows some noises to be outputted in Zelda: Windwaker, Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Mario Kart: Double Dash. The sound itself is broken, garbled, static, and incomplete. Still it's tremendous progress nevertheless, and a step towards full DSP emulation and sound in Zelda/Mario games that have lacked sound for a while due to lack of documentation on the DSP hardware. Other changes since the last builds includes a fix to improve speed on scenes that previously ran slow such as Zelda: Windwaker's Deku Tree scene, and the main lobby of the mansion with the candles. Despite it fixing much of the slowdown with some scenes, there is still some scenes that run slow or slower than they should run. Dolphin Revision 3499 |
| Posted by Xtreme2damax - 06-20-09 02:01 - 0 comments |
 |
An effort has been made by the Dolphin team to reverse engineer the DSP hardware of the Wii/Gamecube which to this point has had very little documentation. Due to the lack of documentation available for the DSP hardware sound did not work on most first party Nintendo titles not limited to the Zelda and Mario games since they used a specilized format. The lack of documentation has made trying to get sound working in Zelda and Mario games a tricky task. Just today some small but significant progress was made in getting sound to work in these games. Now you are able to hear some sound in these games albeit crackled and distorted sound. The Dolphin team is now one step closer to getting sound working properly for these games. I have included revision 3499 x86, x64, and JITIL x86, which contains these improvements in the DSP_HLE plugin for everyone to test out for themselves: http://cid-b8ece3275d590dda.skydrive.live.....Public/DolphinHere is the svn commit log for this revision: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/source/detail?r=3499

IPB3 RC2 Test Forum |
| Posted by Xtreme2damax - 06-17-09 01:52 - 0 comments |
 |
I have set up a test forum for IPB3 RC2 located here: http://www.xtemu.com/ipbrc/It's using a current version of this forums database, blogs and gallery have been updated as well for testing purposes. I thought I would use this as an opportunity to help our current members and visitors become used to the changes in IPB3, as well as find any bugs in these test versions before the final version of IPB3 is released. Any bug reports can be posted in the feedback section of the test forum, and will be passed along to IPB/IPS as soon as possible. There are many new features for IPB3 that will make it a welcome upgrade once it goes final.

PCSX2 beta: rev1329 |
| Posted by Hard Core Rikki - 06-7-09 16:46 - 1 comments |
 |
Krakatos uploaded a more recent beta build for PCSX2. Get it here: http://www.pcsx2.net/downloads.php?p=publicbetaQUOTE Ok, here comes a new beta. Since last one, work has been done mainly on the branches. Now with this beta you can choose to use microvu by selecting the 2 additional options under the cpu panel. This is a beta! Expect breakage. And it IS slower, for now at least. If you have microvu bugs to report, use this thread http://forums.pcsx2.net/thread-7484.html Pcsx2 beta 1329 Changelog: - Microvu added as an additional cpu option. To use it, enable both the new options in the cpu tab. Expect problems. - Quite some work on vif, gif and path 3. Quite a few of the games that had problems with 1190 due to this should now work. - Increased the EErec's stack memory from 64k to 128k, since there's no reason to be frugal there anymore - Improved the CPU speed/ghz detection. It should be a bit more accurate, and is faster (pcsx2 startup times are near instantaneous now) - Some emitter changes - Some general cleanups to vtlb's memory protection and recompiled block integrity checking systems. - Usual code cleanups and optimizations Known issues: Front mission 4 hangs Ar tonelico 1 hangs Many Gust games show black screen (ar tonelico 2, atelier iris 3...). To solve, press F1 when that happens (yeah, random... but hey it kinda works)
