Xbcd Drivers Vista x64 Problem

I am unable to access the configuration interface unless I run the interface as admin, the interface doesn't detect my Xbox 360 controller or allow me to configure it.
XBCD is needed for older games that weren't configured to use the Xbox 360 controller, games like Silent Hill 4 and others plays funky with the default Microsoft drivers, and lacks the ability to use some buttons/triggers as well as the right analog stick to move the camera up/down, left/right.

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but this is the version I download:

You uploaded it at some point, I'm unsure if I'll need to do anything else to get it working.

I don't need the emulation wrapper since I'm using an Xbox 360 controller.

Also the readme says that the drivers only work on XP, say nothing about Vista/x64..

If so, where can I get these drivers at? I have a feeling they aren't the default X360 Microsoft drivers.

in which os did you start using windows?.....
it can't have been 9x, else you would know whats going on here.....
anyway,
The application installs all the files, (drivers included) but does not register them with a device.
open device manager up, go to the Xbox 360 item, now be careful, theres a hid device, and the real device, updating the hid driver will bsod windows. lol.
Choose to update the driver manually, then select c:\windows\inf, or c:\program files\xbcd\driver and it will install the driver.

However I could find no indication that it was required to manually install/register these in the device manager..

It won't install the XBCD driver through the device manage because it claims that a better driver than what is currently installed can not be found.
I then uninstalled the old official Microsoft Xbox 360 controller drivers from the Control Panel, and still had the same problem installing the XBCD drivers that a better driver than what was currently installed couldn't be found.
I then tried to uninstall the device through the device manager, but it keeps on re-installing the default Microsoft Xbox 360 Pad driver automatically, so I am unable to install the XBCD drivers properly.

right click > update drivers > choose / browse manually / select from a list / browser, etc
select the windows/inf folder and it'll list all compatible devices, including the xbcd driver.
